First of all, hi!

I’m Qianxi Shang recently graduated from School of Visual Arts (SVA). As an illustration artist, I love to explore various art styles and various themes, but I mostly interested in art that is imaginative and memorable.

In my artworks, I always try to dig into the inner world and extreme emotions of the normal people. So most of my art theme is related to unconscious thoughts and psychological issues. Instead of directly expressing the darker side and horrifying scenes, I usually express them in a subtle, light, and whimsical way. In a formal aspect, I frequently use vibrant colors and unexpected combinations to give viewers strong visual experience. I am also fascinated with metaphysical art. I believe the melancholy and vacuum feeling is shared by everyone in the deepest part of their hearts, and those are only can nearly expressed through the unexplainable metaphysical art.

I am an illustrator having lots of working experience. Even before I went to SVA, I have accepted a job as an illustrator in a child education institution, where I did small illustration pieces for teaching and the publicity of their lessons. Later in my junior year in collage, I got an offer of a more formal company, in which I help students wanting to study abroad to make and polish their portfolio. From those working experience, I have accumulated lots of communication skills and have practiced to make my art more business directed.
